CanJet WebFares Now Available Through Softvoyage
Airline Saves on Distribution Costs, Reaches More Consumers
TORONTO, December 12, 2003 --
CanJet, one of Canada's low-fare airline industry leaders, has chosen Softvoyage SAX technology to deliver its bargain-priced 'webfares' to a broader consumer audience, while at the same time reducing the cost of distribution.
Now, Softvoyage SAX customers are able to sell CanJet webfares directly through their host system. When an air request is made through SAX, millions of airfares are searched in a matter of seconds. The technology immediately searches several distinct sources: published fares on GDS; tour operator charter fares; consolidator fares and now, CanJet webfares.
"Softvoyage is the first to connect to CanJet directly," says Doug Newson, CanJet Director, Marketing and Sales Delivery. "We are delighted because of the strong penetration of Softvoyage SAX technology in the online business-to-consumer market. The cost of selling through Softvoyage is significantly less than through GDS systems, which allows us to offer these excellent fares to Canadian travellers."
"Adding CanJet webfares to our SAX air portfolio makes the product stronger than ever," says Dan Langevin, Vice-President Sales & Marketing for Softvoyage. "Our travel agency customers now have one more attraction to drive consumers to their online booking sites."
CanJet Airlines is a division of IMP Group Limited, Halifax, Nova Scotia, one of Canada's largest aviation and aerospace companies. The airline provides low-fare scheduled service to ten destinations in Eastern and Central Canada as well as Florida with Boeing 737 aircraft. Customers can book on-line at www.canjet.com; through CanJet's Reservations Sales Centre at 1-800-809-7777; or through their preferred travel agency.
